Halloween
It was that time of year again. Usually he hated this season, just a bunch of annoying little brats dressed up knocking at his door, aggravating him. But this year, Devi had invited him round to watch some horror movies. So he put up with the trick or treaters until it was time to leave. Not that he gave any of them candy, he just didn't scare them. Nny brought flowers and knocked on Devi's door. She let him in and started the film. Halfway through the first movie, Nny saw that Devi had her hands covering her eyes, obviously freaked out by the film. Slowly reaching over, he pulled her elbows down and held her hands, slipping his arms around her shoulders. She leant her head on his shoulders and he inhaled the sweet scent of her hair. 'Perhaps Halloween wasn't so bad after all.' Nny pondered to himself.

It took Johnny four nights without sleep, but he finally finished his painting. He thought it was brilliant, even if he said so himself. It was split into two halves: on one side it was dark and shadowy, swirls in varying shades of grey and black twisted around each other; and on the other, purple and green lines swam around the canvas weaving in and out until they blended with the grey in the middle – joining the two halves. Although each half was different, they were both part of the same painting, neither half making sense on their own.
